A website is not a service. It is a thing you made.
A newsletter tool earns its monthly fee — it sends mail every month. A website mostly sits there being correct. Charging rent on it works because switching is painful, not because the cost recurs.
What it costs us
Storing your pages and serving them is close to free — a published page is a static file on a CDN, and serving one costs a fraction of a cent. What genuinely costs money is the AI, and it costs it per request rather than per month.
So that is what we charge for
One credit is one cent of what a model costs us. What an edit costs therefore depends on the edit — rewording a heading and rebuilding a page are not the same job — and every one is itemised so you can see. Keeping the site online is 5 credits a day. Both come out of the same balance, and neither is a monthly bill.
And why we still sell plans
Because if you are editing most weeks they are cheaper for you, and predictable revenue is worth steering towards. Every plan beats every pack on rate, and a plan covers the hosting outright. What we will not do is make packs bad to push you onto one.
The price list
What one payment actually buys.
One payment, and the credits sit there until you spend them. They pay for two things: the AI that does the editing, and the 5 credits a day that keep the site on the internet.

How long a pack lasts is down to you: hosting is the same 5 credits a day whatever you do, but editing spends credits too, so a site you work on every week runs down faster than one you leave alone. The balance, and what went where, are both on the dashboard. A monthly plan from $15 covers the hosting outright and puts every credit towards the AI, which is why it is the better deal for anyone editing often.

Four things that stop being your problem.
The site of a business that has a slow season
A wedding photographer in January and a ski shop in July pay the same monthly fee as everybody else for a site nobody is visiting. Here a quiet month is quiet in the ledger too.
The site you finished
Some sites are done. A menu, an address, some photographs, a phone number. Paying $20 a month for a page that has not changed since it was written is the most common complaint in this category, and it is a fair one.
The card that expired
A failed payment is normally how you find out your website is down, and it is usually a bank fraud check rather than a decision you made. There is no card on file here to expire. The balance goes down slowly and visibly, so running low is something you can see coming rather than something you are told about.
The site you built for someone else
Build it, hand it over, buy the client a pack to leave it running on. No account transfer, no "please add your card to keep this alive", no support call in eleven months.
Questions about the pricing
Do credits expire?
No. A pack you bought two years ago is worth exactly what it was worth the day you bought it. There is no expiry date, no "use it or lose it" window and no annual reset.
What happens when the credits run out?
The site is paused — it stops being served and AI editing stops. Nothing is deleted. Top up and everything comes back exactly as you left it, including the pages, the pictures, the revision history and the domain.
So there is still a running cost. How is that different from a subscription?
It is different in the three ways that matter. It is not a recurring charge — nothing bills your card on a date. It is not a fixed amount — a quiet month costs 5 credits a day and a busy one costs more, so you are never paying a flat fee for a site you did not touch. And it is not a commitment — you buy when you want to and stop when you want to, with no cancellation to remember.
Why do you sell subscriptions at all, then?
Because for a site being worked on most weeks, a plan is genuinely cheaper: every plan is better value per credit than every pack, and a plan also covers the hosting so all of its credits go on AI. If that describes you, subscribing is the rational choice and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. If it does not, packs are a real option and not a punishment — even the worst pack rate is 4.75¢ a credit.
Can I switch between them?
Yes, in both directions and at any time. Credits from a pack sit in the same balance as credits from a plan. Cancelling a plan does not take anything away — you keep whatever is left and the site carries on until it runs down.
Is there a catch on the free subdomain or HTTPS?
No. Custom domains cost nothing extra, the padlock is turned on for you and stays on, and there is no tier where HTTPS or a domain is the thing being withheld to move you up a plan.
